“There is no fear in love, but perfect love cast out fear.  For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.” (1 John 4:18)

2020 has been the year of fear for countless individuals.  Much of this fear has been heaped upon us by fear mongers.  God does not simply love.  He is love.  Perfect Love entered into the world He had created over 2,000 years ago.  On that day, the icy grip of fear which held fast the heart of man began to melt.  A new day dawned.  A day guide by assurance rather than tyrannized by fear.  “Come, Thou long expected Jesus.”  “Let us find our rest in Thee.” 

COME, THOU LONG EXPECTED JESUS

Come, Thou long expected Jesus,
Born to set Thy people free;
From our fears and sins release us,
Let us find our rest in Thee.

Israel’s Strength and Consolation,
Hope of all the earth Thou art;
Dear Desire of every nation,
Joy of every longing heart.

Born Thy people to deliver,
Born a child and yet a King,
Born to reign in us forever,
Now Thy gracious kingdom bring.

By Thine own eternal Spirit
Rule in all our hearts alone;
By Thine all sufficient merit,
Raise us to Thy glorious throne.
