“And the angel said to them, ‘Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.’” (Luke 2:10-11)
I live in Cambodia where Christianity makes up a very small fraction of the population. Many refuse to accept or even listen to the gospel message because they say it is a foreign religion. Yet this truth remains, Christ is not for one nation or ethnic group. The good new of his birth and its accompanying joy are “for all the people.” He is born “Christ the Lord.” Again, if the message is for all people, he is also Lord of all people. Whoever you are. Wherever you are from. Christ is for you. “Christ the child is Lord of all! Christ the child was born for you!”
INFANT HOLY, INFANT LOWLY
Infant holy, infant lowly, For His bed a cattle stall;
Oxen lowing, little knowing Christ the child is Lord of all.
Swiftly winging, angels singing, Bells are ringing, tidings bringing:
Christ the child is Lord of all! Christ the child is Lord of all!
Flocks were sleeping, shepherds keeping Vigil till the morning new
Saw the glory, heard the story, Tidings of a Gospel true.
Thus rejoicing, free from sorrow, Praises voicing, greet the morrow:
Christ the child was born for you! Christ the child was born for you!
